William J. Willis is a well-known business lawyer and community leader in Southwestern Ontario. His practice centers on a value added, ‘just-in-time’, and ethical approach to delivering top quality legal services. This approach, matched with William’s hard work ethic, has proven to be very effective in developing and maintaining strong client relationships, a reputation of integrity and a level of sincere appreciation from his clients.
In late 2016, William founded Willis Business Law and is head of the firm’s business law department. William strives to mentor his team of talented lawyers and impart in them the importance of professionalism, valuing client relationships and being active in one’s community. He is a strong believer in team building and can often be heard reciting the phrase “the whole is greater than the sum of its parts”.
William’s clients range from small entrepreneurial firms to large private and public sector institutions. His practice focuses on a variety of commercial matters including mergers and acquisitions, financings, corporate structuring and re-organizations, drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements, advising on risk management issues and on commercial real estate investments.
William has also enjoyed active involvement in the Windsor-Essex County community. He is dedicated alum of the University of Windsor, where he has served as a sessional instructor in the Securities Law course as well as a guest lecturer in the Bankruptcy and Insolvency course and the Contract Law course. He has also served as Chair of the University of Windsor, Board of Governors.
In his personal time, William enjoys spending time with his two daughters and wife, Dina and has a keen interest in travel.
